Tuesday, February 9th Monthly Meeting: At El Peñasco (SE Mill and Broadway)

6:30 (Note the earlier time)

  • Guest Speaker: David Lujan, Candidate for AZ Attorney General
  • Updates: Councilmember Ben Arredondo and State Rep. Ed Ableser (our state representative slate), and State Rep. David Schapira (our State Senate Candidate)

Keeping Us Blue

A second Republican (in addition to Augustus Shaw, first vice chair of AZ Republican Party) has filed to run for one of the two state representative seats in D17. Donald Hawker, an Republican precinct committeeperson from Tempe 38 just filed. Based on Hawker's record of campaign contributions, he is very conservative. As of now, the House race (for 2 seats) is shaping up as follows:

  • Ed Ableser - Democrat
  • Ben Arredondo - Democrat
  • Donald Hawker - Republican
  • Augustus H. Shaw IV - NP
The less-crowded, but more contentious, Senate race pits our State Rep. David Schapira against Republican and long-time Tempe resident, Wendy Rogers. Join us on February 16 at (5-7:30pm) to support Ed and David's clean-elections campaigns and keep the slate blue!
