Monthly Meeting of the D17 Democrats

What: We will be talking about the upcoming LD reogranization, the Tempe municiple elections, preview upcoming events, our new congressional district, and hear from our candidates!

David Schapira, our State Senator and Democratic Leader of the State Senate wants his base there as we celebrate (we hope) David’s decision! Will our state senator run for Congress in 2012? Blue business owner Julian Wright is treating us to complimentary appetizers and there will be half-priced, beer, wine, and margaritas.

Special Reception to Benefit the Maricopa County Democratic Party

Please join the honorable Neil Giuliano and a host of others in support of the grassroots-outreach, capacity-building, and voter-engagement work of the Maricopa County Democratic Party. Their (our) work will make all the difference in preparing for our success in 2012. Neil Giuliano, a former Mayor of Tempe, 1994-2004, is currently the CEO of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.

Maricopa County Democratic Party Night out with the Phoenix Suns

Phoenix Suns vs. New Jersey Nets: A portion of your ticket goes to support Maricopa County Democratic Party! Los Suns are giving us early entry and a free gift as well. Pick up your tickets ahead of time at will-call, and the tickets serve as free light-rail passes!

Independent Redistricting: We’ll Become LD26, the Tempe-Mesa Democrats

Thanks to all of you who stepped up during Arizona’s redistricting process. It was your ownership of this process that kept redistricting safely in the hands of our communities and away from destructive partisan attacks. You spoke eloquently about Tempe, your personal stories, and your hopes for a better Arizona. Reorganizing into the New Legislative District 26!

On February 14th, at our monthly meeting, we intend to ’reorganize’ and integrate our membership with our Mesa neighbors (mostly from the old LD18). Share the love of your fellow Democrats on Valentine’s Day!
